I already have insurance. Why would I need DPC?
DPC complements your insurance, not replaces it. Think of DPC as an affordable, all-access pass to your primary care provider. With longer appointments, easy communication, and no co-pays, you’ll likely catch and manage health issues earlier—saving you time and money in the long run. Insurance is still important for hospitalizations, specialists, and emergencies, but DPC ensures your day-to-day health needs are covered without the headaches of insurance billing.
DPC sounds expensive. I can just pay a co-pay when I see my doctor.
DPC often saves patients money in the long term. The flat monthly fee typically covers unlimited visits, same-day or next-day appointments, and routine procedures—without additional co-pays or surprise bills. Additionally, many DPC practices offer wholesale pricing on labs, imaging, and medications, which can drastically reduce out-of-pocket costs.
I’m healthy and don’t visit the doctor often. Is DPC worth it?
Yes! DPC is about more than just sick visits. You gain a doctor who knows you well and is available whenever you need them—by text, call, or video. Regular wellness visits help prevent future issues, and when something does come up, you’ll avoid long waits or rushed appointments. Plus, the peace of mind is invaluable.
What if I need a specialist or hospital care?
DPC providers coordinate your care and help you navigate the system. While DPC covers most of your primary care needs, if you need a specialist, your provider will help you find the right one and often secure more affordable cash-pay rates. You can still use your insurance for hospitalizations or specialized care.
Can I keep my current insurance or Medicare?
Yes! DPC works alongside any insurance or Medicare plan. You can use your insurance for services not included in DPC, such as specialist visits, imaging, or hospital stays. With DPC, your insurance becomes more of a safety net for major medical needs.
Is DPC the same as concierge medicine?
Not exactly. Both models emphasize personalized care and direct access to your doctor. However, DPC has a flat, affordable monthly fee without the high annual retainers that concierge practices often charge. Most DPC memberships are priced to be accessible to individuals and families.
Can my employer offer DPC as a benefit?
Yes! Many businesses provide DPC memberships for their employees as an affordable healthcare solution. This can reduce sick days, increase productivity, and lower overall healthcare costs for the company.
Will I lose access to care if I travel or move?
Not necessarily. Many DPC practices offer telehealth services, allowing you to consult your provider via phone, video, or text from anywhere. Your DPC doctor can often help you manage issues remotely or guide you to care while you’re away.
Can I cancel my membership if I change my mind?
Most DPC practices offer month-to-month memberships with no long-term contracts, making it easy to adjust if your situation changes. Just check your provider’s cancellation policy.
Do you offer any of your services outside of DPC?
We recognize there is a huge need in our community for trusted, quality specialty hormone and weight loss care. To answer this need, we do offer weight loss and hormone optimization services outside of our direct primary care. These services are limited to these area's only and primary care needs will not be addressed during these service visits.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and credit or debit cards. Payment is expected at the time of service. For memberships, monthly auto withdrawal is required. Annual discounts are available as well.
Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for services?
Yes, you can use your HSA or FSA to pay for eligible healthcare services. However, it's always a good idea to check with your accountant provider to confirm which services are allowed by IRS rules.
